REQUIREMENTS: 
  • A deep knowledge of production practices as well as methods for tracking and managing budgets is required. 
  • A bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in business or film is preferred. 
  • The person must have a demonstrated understanding of the film/television industry as well as experience effectively managing production/financial resources. 
  • The ability to multitask is a must.
  • A full time UPM must have 3-5 years of relevant professional work experience.
DUTIES:
  • Create track and maintain budgets for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Work closely with the Producer’s to help them achieve their creative goals while keeping the projects on time and budget.
  • Oversee and train students in working as a UPM.
  • Manage and oversee ¾ time UPM’s.
  • Coordinate the logistics of each project.
  • During production ensure that all crew and cast members, vendors and equipment are informed of location and call time. Make sure the set runs efficiently and keep to the daily scheduled work.
  • Coordinate needed crew and equipment in house as well as with outside vendors.
  • Oversee the postproduction process to ensure the project is completed on time and ready for broadcast.
  • Work closely with BYUB Accounting to ensure all invoices, time cards and other financial documents on projects are properly managed.
  • Create contracts for outside vendors.
  • Work closely with BYUB’s General Counsel to ensure all legal requirements are adhered to on projects.

Spring 2012 Internship 

Description: 
HEAL Utah is seeking a spring intern to help with the following projects: 
  • Bolstering our work during the 2012 Legislative session, as we back bills that could promote renewable energy, while keeping a watchful on others that may promote nuclear power or allow EnergySolutions and other polluters freer rein. 
  • Promoting and organizing our Spring Breakfast, typically in May, one of our biggest events and fundraisers of the year. Includes marketing, recruitment and more. 
  • Supporting our key ongoing campaigns, including: 
  • Urging state regulators and Gov. Herbert to keep hotter "blended" nuclear waste out of Utah. 
  • Fighting the proposed nuclear reactors on the Green River 
  • Working to transition as quickly as possible away from dirty coal power plants 
  • Pushing renewable energy 
  • Lobbying our Congressional delegation to back the to support the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, to ban all nuclearexplosions anywhere 
  • Helping us engage dozens of HEAL Utah volunteers, manage our list of over 7,000 existing supporters and help cultivate hundreds of new supporters. 
  • Assist with HEAL Utah events, including press conferences, regulatory hearings, monthly HEAL Community educational nights, and our 2012 lobby day training. 



We are looking for a highly-motivated and organized self-starter to bring his or her 
passion and skills to help us accomplish this goal. 

Successful applicants will be: passionate about Utah's health and environment;

have a warm and engaging personality. Preference will be given to those with a 
background in: environmental issues, public policy, research, activism, nonprofits,

 Ability to commit 10-15 hours per week from early to mid January through mid May. 

Compensation: 
This internship may include a $500 stipend. (We are seeking to include this funding 
in our 2012 budget. As our 2011 numbers are still developing, we are not yet 
positive if the funding will be there. We will decide this, however, before we make 
any final offers.) In addition, academic credit may be available. This position will 
certainly provide you with valuable hands-on experience.
