Newsletter Committee

The newsletter committee works to produce our monthly newsletter, "The Professional." Members are responsible for everything from writing and editing to design and layout. This committee is the perfect way to get experience in writing and design and to add to your portfolio. If you would like to join the newsletter committee, please contact Lauren Lytle, editor-in-chief.

Interlock

Interlock is a mentoring program designed to help students prepare to enter the work force. Based on the student's interest and the professional's areas of expertise, students are matched up with a public relations professional in the area. Many of our current mentors are members of the Utah Valley PRSA Chapter. The student and professional contact each other and are encouraged to meet once a month to talk about things like resumes, experiences and professional advice. If you are a student interested in becoming involved in Interlock or a professional who would like to become a mentor, please contact Hilarie Laukat, vice president of professional development.

Events Committee

The events committee offers students a chance to help plan and carry out PRSSA events. Their responsibilities include contacting speakers, advertising and planning refreshments. If you are interested in event planning, please contact any member of the executive board.

Chapter Public Relations

You are always encouraged to get involved ,even if you don't have much time. If you don't have time to work with a client or on a committee, you can help carry out our chapter's public relations plan. Much of this effort could be done from home in your own time without extra lengthy meetings. You can help by designing flyers or posters or with general promotion of activities and events. There may even be opportunities to write press releases or write for the Web site or blog. If you are interested in helping with our chapter's public relations efforts, please contact Kevin Earl.
